About the Job
Dental Practice Manager – Hands-On Leader & Team Motivator

SA Family Dentist / Dual Arc Dental | San Antonio, TX Area
We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Dental Practice Manager who knows how to lead from the front, drive results, and hold a team accountable.
This is NOT a sit-in-your-office management position. We need a leader who is actively involved in daily operations, steps in wherever needed, works alongside the front office team, and leads by example. You must be comfortable doing the work yourself while coaching your team to perform at a high level.
We are a privately owned dental practice that believes in exceptional patient care, teamwork, accountability, and continuous growth. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the practice as if it were their own.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example: Actively perform front office duties, including answering phones, scheduling patients, checking patients in and out, managing the schedule, verifying insurance, and assisting with treatment coordination and collections.
  • Drive practice goals: Take ownership of daily, monthly, and annual production and collection goals. Monitor performance and implement action plans to achieve targets.
  • Motivate and develop the team: Keep the team engaged, positive, focused, and accountable. Set clear expectations, coach team members, and address performance issues promptly.
  • Manage daily operations: Ensure the schedule is productive, cancellations are filled, patients are accommodated, and the team works efficiently.
  • Improve case acceptance and collections: Support treatment plan presentation, follow up on unscheduled treatment, and maintain strong financial performance.
  • Deliver an outstanding patient experience: Lead a service-oriented team that treats every patient with care, professionalism, and respect.
  • Maintain accountability: Track key performance indicators, conduct regular team huddles, communicate goals, and follow through on commitments.
  • Build a strong team culture: Promote ownership, teamwork, professionalism, and solutions-oriented communication. No gossip, negativity, or blaming others.
  • Ensure operational excellence: Oversee front office workflows, insurance processes, scheduling systems, and compliance with office policies.
  • Take initiative: Identify opportunities to improve the practice and take action without waiting to be told what needs to be done.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of dental office experience required.
  • Open Dental software experience required.
  • Previous dental office management or leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of dental scheduling, insurance verification, treatment coordination, collections, and front office operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and hold a team accountable for measurable results.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced dental practice and stepping in wherever help is needed.
  • Reliable, proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.

Benefits & Growth Opportunities:
  • Health insurance.
  • Dental insurance.
  • Paid time off (PTO).
  • Paid holidays.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
  • The opportunity to grow with an established, privately owned dental practice and make a meaningful impact on its success.

The Person We Want to Hire:
You are someone who:
  • Leads from the front rather than managing from the sidelines.
  • Never asks the team to do something you are unwilling to do yourself.
  • Takes ownership of results instead of making excuses.
  • Knows how to motivate people while maintaining high standards.
  • Understands that a successful practice requires both excellent patient care and strong business performance.
  • Sees a problem and takes action to solve it.
  • Thrives on goals, accountability, teamwork, and measurable progress.

If your idea of being a manager is sitting in an office while your team handles the daily workload, this position is not for you.
If you are a hands-on leader who can run the front office, inspire a team, improve performance, and help a dental practice reach its full potential, we would love to hear from you.
To apply: Please submit your resume and briefly describe your dental management experience, your familiarity with Open Dental, and how you have helped a dental team achieve its goals.
